At Woodside Animal Farm we are committed to providing an inclusive experience for all our visitors.  We’re proud to start working with Nimbus Disability, using the Access Card Scheme to simplify access for visitors with additional needs.

Until 31st December 2025 we will offer an Essential Companion ticket at a discounted rate. Until then as proof of eligibility we will accept a blue badge, DLA /PIP award letter or an Access Card showing a +1 or +2 symbol, Without this supporting evidence 2 full price ticket charges will apply. We do not accept Universal Credit or bank statements as proof of a disability award.

From the 1st January 2026 we are making the following changes:

Free Essential Companion Tickets 

Essential Companion tickets will be free and only available to visitors who hold an Access Card featuring the +1 or +2 symbol. Essential companion tickets will be free of charge.

Don’t have an Access Card?

You can apply for a free Woodside Animal Farm Digital Access Pass (DAP) here, to enable you to book Essential Companion ticket(s). In order for Nimbus Disability to allocate the symbols that represent the barriers you face you will need to provide the relevant documentation. The DAP lasts for 3 years, so once you’ve applied and it’s been approved, that’s it. You’ll also have the option to upgrade to a full Access Card (£15 for 3 years), which is recognised at thousands of venues across the UK and beyond.

Why are we changing?

Nimbus is the team behind the Access Card, the UK’s most widely recognised proof of disability, which is used by thousands of venues across the country. Their understanding of accessibility needs and commitment to best practices, ensures organisations are able to provide the best support for disabled people. Nimbus is a leading accessibility organisation run by disabled people for disabled people. Allowing Nimbus to determine who is eligible for support removes the need for disabled individuals to repeatedly share private, sensitive personal information or carry multiple supporting documents to prove their eligibility for accessible facilities or services.

Essential Companion tickets must be booked online with your admission tickets. An Access card showing a +1 or +2 symbol must be presented on arrival otherwise 2 full price tickets will apply.

Role of an Essential Companion:
By accepting an Essential Companion ticket, your companion agrees to provide the support you need during your visit, including in the event of an emergency evacuation. Essential Companions must be 16 years or over and the card or pass holder and their Essential Companion must enter together.

Respect and Inclusivity

We are committed to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors. As part of our community, we expect all customers to treat others with respect, dignity, and kindness. Discrimination, including racist, homophobic and misogynistic behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

We reserve the right to take appropriate action, including asking individuals to leave the premises, if these standards are not upheld. By visiting our premises, you agree to adhere to these principles and contribute to a positive experience for everyone.

The whole park is accessible for wheelchair users with the exception of the upstairs play area.

For the safety and comfort of our animals dogs are not permitted into the park. Some animals (particularly pregnant ewes) can be seriously affected by the stress caused by dogs. Assistance dogs are of course welcome, and we ask where possible that your dog wears an identifying jacket and is kept on a lead. This helps other customers recognise your dog as an assistance dog and give them the space they need. It also helps to avoid confusion over whether pets are allowed on the farm.

If there is an issue with your dog wearing a jacket or being on a lead please contact us ahead of your visit on 01582 841044 so that we are aware in advance. We will happily work with you and your assistance dog to make sure you get the best out of your visit.

Hand washing stations are located at short intervals around the park. Antibacterial soap, hot running water and hand towels or dryers are provided at each station and using these is the safest method for keeping you and your family safe. Please encourage all members of your party to wash their hands thoroughly after any animal contact and especially before eating and drinking, even if no contact with the animals has been made. Antibacterial foams and gels are not recommended and are not as effective as a substitute for soap and hot running water.

The whole park is accessible for buggies but please note that for fire safety reasons buggies are not permitted in the PlayBarn. We do have an undercover buggy park, which is a safe dry place to leave your buggy.

For the safety of all staff, customers and animals, bikes and scooters are not permitted in the park. We have our own bikes, trikes and scooters for the children to ride in a specially secured area.

The PlayBarn café offers, sandwiches, toasties, paninis and hot pasties and pies, as well as snacks, ice creams and lunch boxes for the kids. At weekends and during school holidays in the summer season the 'Munch Box' is also open for whippy ice cream, ice cream and lollies, slushies, crisps, snacks and hot and cold drinks.

All visitors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 16 are not permitted to accompany a disabled visitor as an Essential Companion.
