We welcome bookings not only from schools but many groups including mums and toddlers, brownies, holiday schemes and retirement homes.

A lot of effort is put into school visits, group visits and educational trips. Woodside offers a range of daily activities and demonstrations which are both educational and fun and perfect for groups ranging from Early Years through to KS3, linked to the National Curriculum. Our education staff and all our animals will endeavour to give your class or group a day to remember.

The “Hands On” Experience has become well established, with a talk being given on the different breeds of animals and birds here at Woodside, and a chance for all to hold some of our residents including baby chicks, rabbits and even goats and see a hand reared owl. We have introduced an education room with tables and chairs for the children which will be available for use if pre-booked.

We have specialised talks available for school groups including wildlife garden conservation, beekeeping and food/eating with pre visit information sheets which the children can undertake themselves at home or school.

We are also able to arrange talks on specific groups or breeds of animals at the park. Work sheets are available for all groups covering key stages 1 & 2. Let us know if you require any of our work sheets beforehand or if you are covering a certain topic on your syllabus and we will be more than happy to try to help. Samples are available on request.

New for 2007 more reptiles and exotic animals as well as the familiar goats, pigs, llamas, raccoons, flamingos, monkeys and wallabies to name a few.

Included in the group price are tractor rides, outdoor play areas, trampolines, bouncy castles and the indoor play barn with play frame for 3-11 year olds and soft play area for the under 3’s. Perhaps your group would like to help our staff collecting the eggs from our farmyard free range chickens? Or, why not make the most of your visit and purchase an unlimited rider wristband for the children to have unlimited goes on our Country Funfair rides (Helter Skelter, Teacup ride, & Carousel) – weather permitting.
